When I was carving stone the piece might weigh 200 kg or more. I could move the whole thing, but I could also concentrate the entire energy of a hard full swing of the hammer into a tiny controlled change in the surface – again and again, tens of thousands of times if needed. You can easily write stories about the mother dragon and her interactions with her people. Of Ruby and her peers. Of small stories of the cleaner and his life. Of dragons facing problem in society. It only takes a small bit of interface and care to make it a vastly larger fabric. Do you see it? Even simple stores about familiar characters take on more meaning, if they fit into a frame and lives that have connections and familiarity. Even Ruby can take an afternoon to explore on her own. And reflect on her friends and world. It does not have to be big or a crisis, if it is “human” and caring and thoughtful and feeling. Even Ruby’s mother could have a story about what she is learning from study and interactions. She does not have to be in a crisis to be concerned about dragon affair and offer her own unique perspective and thoughts. If there are 1000 characters there are 1000*999/2 pairs of characters. And “dragons” and “humans” and any issue is another character, so increases the combinations possible.

I was complimenting Fictional Reimagined on writing skill and suggesting a way to connect the stories together. Not just stories following one or two characters, but branching stories connect to any character or theme that shows up. For the Internet Foundation, I have to deal with all human knowledge every day. So seeing the whole fabric of human interactions, that is the way I can see billions of humans as they live their lives in one human species. Overlapping, interlinked stories is a good simple way to visualize it that fits how stories are woven together. I only described a tiny part of it. Hope that makes the comment a little clearer. If you intended another question, just say so. In scenes the characters are connected by a few words and transitions. For larger stories it just takes more words, and a bit of practice. For whole civilizations still more words and usually starting from smaller pieces to get people used to the elements. There are many more stories on the Internet and AIs are generating many new things, the rules are connected. The phenomena is new.

For the Internet Foundation, I have to deal with all 5.6 Billion Internet users and now a substantial body of AI assisted and AI generated material. If I dismiss some things because a human is just learning and they have not mastered their tools, I might ignore someone who could have positive impact on the world. I am taking a “be patient” approach for now. I have been at this (the Internet Foundation) every day for 27 years. I started in artificial intelligence 60 years ago. So there is much I have found and more that can be. I try to record what I can, write what I can, outline issues and opportunities. Say thanks when I see something, and mostly not complain when things don’t fit my even still limited world view. At most I see 60,000 urls in a month and that is a tiny part of the whole. Some things that seem shocking are out of the control of authors today but might be improved tomorrow or in the next few years.
