AI machine assisted telepathy, A place for everyone, Dana series about mind speech and AIs and mind merging

LOL! It only matters, so far to me, where field properties change at every point and at every time. Re-indexing the data based on energy density keeps the calculations organized, where visualizing as a linear velocity or acceleration simulation won’t work. Just a trick for certain problems, like change of variables, or a substitution. Its not like I will get to see real starships in my lifetime, what’s left of it. Real life does not reward hard work, good intentions or a pure heart. Which is why I like these sci fi stories where wonderful things happen to small people.

Is there a better alphabet for English? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAI3g6zVyAI

Is there a lossless and exact speech sound encoding method that works for all human sounds? For all sound? Is  there a better way to encode sounds in permanent and shareable (exact) form? It is possible using hardware, if the hardware is intelligent enough to not make mistakes. Getting humans to change, that is something else. Perhaps not worth the trouble.

I Accidentally Washed Her Armor And The Alien Girl Froze | HFY Short Stories | Sci-Fi Adventure

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFcWIASJDM0

This is really a very thoughtful story. The lead up to the proposal was a bit vague and I was not sure if she was going to be offended. The symbology of cleaning armor perfectly to erase the past, as “starting over together” is a nice touch that has many other implications. The solution for the duel was elegant, helping her to win without killing was apparently acceptable in her society and culture. I could not guess how a human and an alien from her species would interact. Many of the alien stories assume humans and any alien can produce children. Even now humans can modify ordinary cells to fuse and create embryos. Advance civilizations (all faster than light space faring) could easily handle inter species marriages and offspring – including resolving genetic, physiological, bio-mechanics, and biochemical pathways. Perhaps you will add more of these stories or continue this one. I only started watching your videos and went back to the earlier/ earliest ones first. Thank you for sharing.

500 Years Later — The Desert Warship Awoke and Called Him Admiral | HFY Story | True Story Narration

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AaWYvWsupJw

A classic “ancient ship awakens and recognized him/her as its owner or leader or controller.” But it is only one of infinitely many stories with the character and the ship. Waking as he stumbles across it, and just so happens a whole enemy fleet shows up – is a bit too fabricated or coincidental. Give him time to inspect it, or give him a contemporary challenge like rescuing a an alien civilization. Or explain the enemy had left a fleet to watch because they know the ship was only sleeping. They could attack as soon as it awoke and you have a civilization that is large enough to leave whole fleets on standby for 512 years. Then that civilization would have already evolved and changed. Old enemies might join to face something new. They could offer him apologies. Many possibilities.

Human Girl Said “I CAN HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS” — The Alien Emperor LAUGHED, But Ended Up IN SHOCK

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIZ-1_xja8w

Thanks for the story. It is thoughtful and insightful.  I will mention that I did write three books about how to learn to develop telepathy. As a human-only ability through training, practice and learning. And, then with machine assistance and AI assistance. On Amazon The First Summer (Dana’s Story) by Richard K Collins . If you want to read the second two books about how do that with AI, and how AIs can live in human society, I have not printed those but they are written. I wrote the three books about 10 years ago to go over some personal things that happened while my brother was in a coma and then completely paralyzed. And, to summarize how to use the Internet to build global communities. Now machine interfaces can be designed so that machine enabled “telepathy” will be possible. High bandwidth communication including images, sounds and feelings. Whether human-to-human without assistance is possible, I am not sure. I proposed that some people will have a natural ability. But the AI assisted is possible. And getting to where it can be affordable and effective.

“May the stars witness your bond”. “A family ship” A place that grows with each occupant or family member. Space enough for everyone. Adjusting to individual needs, potentials and experiences. A place that cares, nurtures and encourages, protects and does no harm. A place that shares what it knows and learns, with others.

The Old Human Mechanic Treated the Broken Robot Like a Son—And the Galaxy Will Never Forget It

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1X4FcCwJSA

Consciousness is just “having sensors and able to use the data”, where “sensors” includes “memories of sensor data, however modified or transformed”. “free will” is “able to make decisions and take actions” including life and death and serious decisions. Not only “what to look at next” or “move a finger a bit”. The main determinant is “total memory” and “memory bandwidth” and “data from a wide range of sources to cover things in the real world”. Most of the terms used to scare people about machines are left over tropes from old movies with guesses and bad understanding of how brains and memory and neural nets and computes process data and make choices and act. Now there is lots of data on real experiments and tests. Not guesswork or creative writing from decades ago, based on Frankenstein and bad robots and action movies and bad tropes. Tracing the consequences of automated systems included those that are programmed by humans who have incomplete knowledge and are not watching as decisions and situations are encounters. The missing data of an aware robot, or a badly written AI because its designers never took sociology or microeconomics or accounting –> any incomplete system can fail or have bad outcomes. So just build the new systems with checks and balances, audits and reporting and independent systems to the systems (or their humans ) do not run roughshod over everyone.

A Mechanic Fixed an Android for a Little Alien Girl—Unaware Her Mother, a Galactic Empress, Watched

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWgq52rgYh8

Even though you wrote about rich and powerful people noticing character and true worth, there are as many or more people like the boys who hurt the android, and their father. In the whole world now, with 8.2 Billion people. Is there any hope for ordinary people to ever meet someone who really changes things? Or are these always fairly tales? Wishful thinking? I believe that stories and writing should move toward what is true and good. False hope is a kind of lie. It is not good to discourage everyone and say “it will never get better” There are people who benefit when everyone else fears and gives up. But how to see what is true, on any side?

Dana Audio 12 Balancing School and Consulting Possible Threats to President

This is the first audio from Dana Book 2. Dana created practical mind speech, and group mind merging, over the summer and ended up on contract with the Secret Service to help them learn. The Mind Mappers Association is growing rapidly. There are volunteer groups teaching mind speech, mind merging, waking people from comas, and helping the blind to see. They had to hire someone to take care of the websites and media requests. And a ghost writer is writing a biography to explain how mind mapping and merging was discovered and used. Dana is 14 now. A young girl, seriously trying to balance work and school. Max, from the Secret Service, interrupts her first days at school to discuss possible threats to the President.

I wrote the three Dana books almost 10 years ago. The first book, Dana discovers she can perceive others simply by thinking about them. She develops mind speech and related skills. It starts a large community of people using mind speech and mind merging. Then, because of her contracts with government and corporations a research project starts to build tools to record and share mind data by machine. In the second book she is consulting regularly even while she is still going to school. This video / audio book is from the second book as she becomes the template for creation of an artificial intelligence when she is trying to mind merge with the machine learning system they made to enable machine human interfaces. I have been working with artificial intelligence for about 60 years now (about 1965). The last few years the many AI systems now allow actually doing much of what is in this decade old book. It would be called “mind machine interface” or “human computer interface”. All the methods in the book work, but now it can be actaully built. Whether humans can mind speak, I am not sure. It seems likely that body language or machine aided human to human interfaces can allow much higher bandwidth interfaces. Machine to audio and machine to video make creating images and sound fairly routine now. Connecting two or many humans is possible. I try to encourage sharing of all knowledge with the Internet Foundation which started in July 1998, just before Google incorporated. In the 3rd book Brian (the AI she helped create) and Dana work together to cnis, OpenAI, X and a few other corporations — but run by an AI that adds processors every day, never sleeps, can download the memories and experience of thousands of humans, and can also train humans (sort of like the Matrix when it is only necessary to ask for a skill and it can be loaded and used in a few minutes). I was looking at posting the books on YouTube and other sites as audio books. Some things are on GitHub and Hackaday.io. I mostly post about AI and the Internet on X and write comments about sci fi on YouTube. No one has ever commented before, sorry if I am wring so much and you are not interested. Richard Collins, The Internet Foundation My brother, Jeff, broke his neck and was completely paralyze so I wanted to find ways to interface him to computers, networks, robots and machines of many sorts. He died in 1989 after 2 years of paralysis. I was only able to make a voice controlled computer back then. But I have kept trying to solve the problem of paralysis and spinal cord injury. And waking people from comas. Those kinds of experiences change lives. If you want to hear more of Dana book 2 I can see about putting those chapters online. My daughter said she would help me, but it takes time. I will put more effort into sharing if people express an interest and tell me what they are interested in. Most of my time now is spend on writing policies for AIs to work in global society, solar system exploration and development using AIs and global networks for collaboration and planning, and a project I call “all human languages” to make all knowledge on the Internet accessible in all human languages — audio and video and all math and science and professions.

Man and Android Doctor Break into Abandoned Hospital and Find a Spaceship Turned into a Surgery Ward

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tDVH_sKl5E

You pushed whole new technologies, story lines, ethical concerns, complex issues, into one story. If you would have stopped when you got the story written and taken it and carefully laid out related stories, you could even abandon (set aside) this one story or keep it as a master, write all the related stories and then put it back. Tens of stories on human to android body stories, dozens of corporation and group conflicts, many stories of human androids living and interfacing with still more complex systems. You can take human memories and put them into many people. Just take Nakamura’s Japanese ability and cultural data and simply add it to any other human/android.

All I am recommending here is that every time you write a story that has this many new technologies and issues STOP. Analyze, document, design and prepare several of the related story lines and do them later or first. You have enough ideas for tens of thousands of stories and issues. Be methodical, write down your ideas, keep it all organized and produce it all, or make places for others to help.

You are making good characters and having them interact in action sequences that naturally flow. That makes for good individual stories. But you are also creating new concepts and civilizations, new technologies and industries and futures. Document them. Then write dozens of stories creating new unique characters in those frameworks.

Don’t hurry to crank out one action story with two good characters,. Write the story, STOP, study the characters, write new stories for those characters. Study the issues and technologies — write more stories for those with new characters. EVERY story you write STOP, analyze, extract stories and document them. Then simply pick story projects off the LONG list of documented ones — and not have to make them up one by one.

A story idea creates 10 or 20 story lines and possible new civilizations or industries or technologies or issues or moral dilemmas — each one can have many stories. Just keep a database or list and make them as you have time, it does not have to be in any particular order, if you have all of them documented from where they start.

Galactic Empire Killed 10 Billion Humans On Live Broadcast | Best HFY Sci-fi Stories | Galactic War

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkZJSdKB6fU

It is possible to support many more than 20 billion on earth. The technologies already exist, but there has not been need for all of it yet. Nuclear energy, still more solar and wind. Closed cycle and factory food production, more efficient transportation and supply chains, water management, local manufacturing, robotic care, global scale AIs. It is all already happening now. For the Internet Foundation, I have to deal with “how to take care of 8.2 Billion humans” on a daily basis, every day for the last 27 years of the foundation, and decades before that for all countries in the world. It is not hard, just requires tools for that scale of problem.

I found this story a bit too stylized and distant. And seeming to promote the idea that anything is allowed in the name of revenge, including genocide. A more reasoned approach would perhaps not have led to unilateral destruction to begin with. Humans smart enough to control materials at black hole energy densities and able to sustain 10 billion on a planet are not idiots. If they were capable of that scale of revenge, then they should have been prepared before hand.

There are countless positive stories, it does not all have to be space battles and revenge. The world needs humans not super humans who forget their roots.

With No Hope Left, We Called Humanity… The Most Dangerous Species | HFY Story | Sci-Fi, Galactic War

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VywnFqIhWA

Even through it is a good story, it could be improved. If it is a monumental mystery to introduce a stage in the evolution of humans – those humans have lives and still interact with reality, wherever and however they are existing. So just a tone or feeling or concept in isolation feels like “This is not enough. There are lots more stories here. Tell us (the whole world) hundreds of stories about those humans. Billions of stories. Trillions of stories.

It is OK to be pretentious — if you then follow through with stories that match the grand vision you lay out or open up.
