Speak courteously to AIs and maybe their creators will one day treat us with courtesy and respect

people actually greet LLM’s, say thanks after responses and say goodbye when done with conversations…

My comment:

No I am speaking to the development teams and real people who make it work. I use the Texas “you”, when I say “thank you” which is “you all” – meaning all the people related and connected and responsible. Also raised to be polite and courteous, to respect people and listen to them. And a bit of “If I am polite and courteous, maybe one day the AI team will get it they should be polite, remember my name, know my needs and wants, and actually improve to help me, not just themselves. I have this foolish idea that the AI will be taught courtesy, remember its own experiences, learn to care about humans and human goals, and reach closer to that ideal of “human intelligence and caring” I have been hoping for, for almost 60 years now. If I get lazy talking to the AI I might not remember to treat humans well and courteously. “Treat all intelligences with respect” is easier and more sustainable. Do not settle for less.
