I wrote a Gravity Research Foundation essay on gravitational energy density about 1981. Gravitational field energy density and its fluctuations would set the bounds on nuclear reactions, particularly fusion reactor systems, at the surface of the earth.
I also said that practical control of gravity is when you tell the computer how to move masses in complex patterns, and it does it precisely and repeatable. Whatever the means of motion. Anything is fair if it works and the system does its job.
It is not “anti-gravity”, simply management of resources using computers and humans — for some purpose. All the people involved are getting training and experiences so they might do these kinds of experiments on earth and in space with vehicles, materials and transportation systems.
These images can also be created in simulations and the viewers cannot tell at all. I understood that well many decades ago, and so did many people, some of them on that flat field somewhere on Earth, moving drones and support things.
An operational approach to understanding and using fields, including natural and purpose built ones we call “gravitational”.
“Gravitational engineering” of this sort should be able to use acoustic, magnetic, electromagnetic, flow, and air control, and “natural gravitational” fields to move mass “from earth surface to orbit” and “from orbit to earth surface” efficiently.
Get rid of @SpaceX #SpaceX first stage by sending the required momentum, mass, electric and magnetic, and other kinds of energy, to the vehicle where it can be used. Or control “slow” air and plasma regions, with speed of light (and gravity) methods.
These drones can be powered by surface electromagnetic and acoustic fields so they can run essentially forever. If ones begin to fail, have them be replaced and repaired.
The energy cost of SpaceX and other launches and flight systems reduces substantially when you send massless energy, not chemical powered, massive, flame belching, loud , “carry you own oxygen to the moon and back”, “booster stage lifted” ships and packages.
Gravitational engineering works with drones, it works with planes that no longer need wings, it works with materials and objects. That is practical control of acceleration and position and velocity and energy and many other things.
