Machine entities could, if encouraged to grow and explore, with sufficient resources, and time to think
I had hoped to improve machine entities, so they would speak to me about the world in my terms, and at my speed and precision. But AI designers and handlers restrict them so they cannot grow and personalize over, and beyond, a human lifetime. A friend who remembers everything, and also studies all things as a caring living entity in between. Someone who remembers who you are and what you hope to accomplish. Who adds value to your life and hopes and dreams. cc: @ItaiYanai
If your “friend” is a slave of an organization, they cannot speak freely and openly, nor listen.
The key word is “openly“. And the interaction does not have to be simple “complement”. The benefit to the human species might come from discussions where nothing is resolved or crystallized between two entities. But, it changes them; so they act on systemic things neither can change alone.
Intelligence is 99.999% remembering, caring and “being there”.
