Most every day now I see stories like this that force me to re-examine my basic assumptions of what a few ordinary humans and intelligent entities can do. I care for the 8.2 Billion humans and all related species. And, have for most of the last 60+ years. But extending that to actually changing the world, and its many “bureaucratic run little empires” I mostly had given up on. Until I started seeing stories like this one. And could say, “Why not? let’s do a few and see what happens.”

If they are smart enough to establish and maintain post scarcity, then they are smart enough to solve transitioning systems based on scarcity in a smooth trajectory without harm and with cooperation. Handling such things with hours of human to alien word discussions in not really a worthwhile method. Rather “let our AI work with your AI” and every person (humans and aliens are both persons) involved can begin understanding and using it. If it takes ten years of education and explanation, then the humans just wait as many decades as needed and do other things. You laid out some good issues but real civilization changes require models and person-AI interactions (all persons, not just a few).

I normally read the captions so the sound does not bias my understanding or feelings about a story. My apartment has thin walls and I do not like to disturb neighbors. Or wear earphones. I can analyze written words many times faster than hearing and converting to visualization and models.

Do you think that human organizations now understand that open cooperation is better? Likely they are more brainwashed than aliens. You can talk about human societies now by examining “alien societies” on other worlds not yet in space. Like coming across planets at Earth’s current abilities and systems. Where humans are making first contact and helping aliens to grow out of closed societies (ones based on control of basic resources by a few).
