Wars

I was born just a few years after the war, and grew up on WW II movies. My Dad was 17 when he went in the Navy to the Pacific. His brother, my uncle, was 19 when he started and was at D day and would never talk about it. It seems all my life there is always war of one sort or another. Threat of nuclear war. Now we get to see war played out for real with drones and tanks blown up. Those are real people dying. Many dozens of countries now with armed conflicts, outright war in videos, hundreds of millions displaced, much poverty and impoverished lives for billions of people. I tried to stop famine in the world, but it is armed conflict that keeps it going. And just a tiny few individuals start it and keep it going and many small people are forced to live or die as the consequences. I am old now, it has been a long life filled with wars, and more still likely. I hope my kids and grandkids survive the next ones.
